I'm happy to unveil my newest Earth, Wind, Fire and Water study,
which I have done on a very small scale, at only 4" x 4" each.
However, the level of detail in these paintings is almost as much
(or more) than I put in to the previous larger EWFW series.
What I am hoping to do with these elemental paintings as they progress,
is portray these elements in visual ways that may be
recognizable a first glance as what they are intended to be,
but not because they are relying on visual cliches,
the more common visual cues commonly used
to portray the elements.
I am attempting to avoid these visual cliches of the
elements altogether, and portray them in a ways that
call attention to their similarities, more than their differences.
There is a fluidity throughout the paintings,
that speaks to the fluidity of all things in time,
especially the elements, which each unfold with their
turbulently chaotic fractal waves of organic perfection.
All is fluid. Regard the Earth, mountains, glaciers,
forests, vast oceans, rolling around in a perfect sphere in outer space.

"All is fluid. Regard the Earth, mountains, glaciers,
forests, vast oceans, rolling around in a perfect sphere in outer space.
The Earth can convulse and reinvent itself in a heartbeat.
Can you see the Wind? Emerging from the confluences of hot and cold
air, flowing around our planet in graceful sweeping, spirally
fractals of unfolding 'weather' as we call it?
The Wind can make the biggest city vanish in a heartbeat.
The Fire, our ally, in colder climes we perish without it.
It flows upward, away, crackling, hissing and whining, licking the open air
hungrily, it seeks to expand through complex pockets and currents
of different temperatures of air.
Fire can destroy everything in its path, instantly.
The Water. What else is there? Who are we but?
Oceans surround us, unfathomable in their depth, we know little
of the oceans true nature.
The enormity of Water's consciousness.
Water's infinite interconnected flowing
heaving life giving network
of countless individual drops,
each one capable of storing
more information than
a million blueray discs....
The Water sees all. Is All.
We are it. It is us.
